Using Avery Labels for Cupcake Toppers

In my toy design business I do lots of white foam core paper models for various clients (you can see some samples in my flickr portfolio link on bottom left column of this blog). I have always preferred using Avery's 1 inch circle labels over tape for a nice, clean, crisp look on my white paper models. So it was natural that I use them for securing sticks to my printable cupcake toppers. I have recommended these before but I never did a post about them and how to use them so here goes!

I buy the white kind, I find the clear ones don't stick to paper good. You can find these labels at your local Office Supply store where they have various colored coded round labels, etc.

(1) What you will need to do first is take one of the labels and place them on whatever stick you are using, lollipop, toothpiks, coffee stirs, etc. If using a stick with some thickness to it like lollipop sticks,, make sure to place the circle label a little bit below the top of the stick.


(2) Take the stick with your round Avery label and stick to back of the cupcake topper and place the topper upside down on a flat surface. Secure firmly by pressing the round label with your fingers on the back of the topper.

(3) Turn the topper over and voila! Easy huh?

You can use tape as well, there is nothing wrong with that. But for a nice clean look, the round labels do the trick ;) So was this post useful to you?
