I met {virtually} the lovely Jeannie of Cakes by Jeannie last year when she purchased the Japanese Love Kit Party Printable Kit from the shop and she made a lovely party for her daughter which you can view HERE. I had admired her baking skills and kept in touch via Flickr. We chatted back and forth and decided we would love to collaborate on a project together and after a few ideas the idea of a Vintage Donut Party for her daughter 's birthday became the theme we would work on!
Jeannie gave me fabulous direction as far as the vision she had for the art I would create. She liked my "kawaii" style of drawing, donuts (of course), lots of blues with accents of pinks, an illustration of a Vintage girl , milk cartons and calico patterns. I took all of the wordings she gave me and created a line of printables to match her party! The party printables also included some easy paper crafts including a milk carton box which we HAD to include in this theme!
Jeannie created the most charming set up for her daughter's party and still keeping a sweet vintage look. I LOVE how she was able to balance the adorable desserts with a good amount of the paper printable items for the party. The Donuts & Doilies Party Kit used in this party is available in the SHOP.
Check out the edible toppers she made from the Circle Tags in the kit to create toppers for the cookies and cupcakes!
She also used pattern paper included in the party kit to line
some of her dessert ware.
Look at these donuts! Yummy!
This is one of my favorite shots--so vintage!
Jeannie made these frames using the pattern paper included in the Party Kit. Nice paper crafting!
Jeannie also used the paper patterns from the kit to wrap small chocolate bars--so cute!
LOVE the cake!
I like to thank Jeannie for this amazing collaboration! I had a blast creating the art and printables and in a time when I needed a little "pick me up" too---art was just the remedy I needed :)
Jeannie's AMAZING Party was featured in the popular blog Kara's Party Ideas today!
