I am about 5 and a half weeks away from the big day! We will meet our baby boy very soon and I can not be happier!
To those wondering where are the photos from the baby shower from this current pregnancy--we decided not to have one. We have so much stuff from baby girl and it all was in neutral colors of greens and beige that really to buy new things would have been a crime! We also thought with the downturn of the economy it would be terrible to impose gift giving on our loved ones when we have so much already. All we needed were diapers and boy clothes which we have been slowly buying those :)
So let's rewind to 3 years ago: I was lucky to have had 2 baby showers then! One was a bigger one that my lovely cousins threw for me and for another cousin who was also pregnant--a double whammy of a shower! I also wanted a smaller intimate baby shower to celebrate my little girl's arrival--this second shower was very small as only our immediate family (grandparents of the baby & uncles of the baby) came as some of them could not make it to the first one. Luckily, my fabulous friend Ilu of Fresh-Linen and her sister offered to help and take charge of various details! I knew I wanted a cherry blossom theme but could not do all of the details myself as I was exhausted at 8 and a half months pregnant! Ilu designed the invitation with a cherry blossom graphic I made for the occasion. She also created the lovely game sheets and circles! I was obsessed with making paper cherry blossoms for the tables! I found a great resource over at Martha's site in doing them--yeah--THAT Martha--who else? I also took my little girl's name and translated it into japanese characters and made lovely tags to decorate the centerpieces.
Below are a few pics! Sadly there were not too many photos taken but there were enough to remember the day. I think the lovely aqua walls made such a great contrast against the colors of the blossoms. Keep in mind this is before PaperGlitter was conceived and even before the boom of party printables were in full effect--so be nice! ^___^
In remembering this party, I thought it would be fitting to offer some precious free printables for this theme. Someday I would love to do an entire cherry blossom Party Printable kit but for now, I offer to you free invitations and envelopes inspired by the shower above! And guess what??? You can type in desired text using Adobe Acrobat Reader as these are super loaded with the editable text feature! Sweet huh? So the invitations can reflect ANY party not just a shower! Download the INVITATION HERE and ENVELOPE HERE--both for free :)
With today's resources on the internet for ideas and supplies in the stores for this theme, you can easily pull off any party with cherry blossoms details. You already have printable invites and envelopes for them so what are you waiting for? Let's plan a party!
