What I did this past weekend.....

I had an interesting thing happened to me this past weekend.  Due to both of my kids being sick so many times in recent months, we decided not to do a party this year for my son who was turning one. Instead, we decided on cutting a simple cake from Coldstone for him and asking his "abuelitos" (grandparents) to come over on Sunday.  Simple enough.  It was suppose to be JUST a cake.  It really was.  .

However…….

On saturday night around 10pm I decided to print a simple cake topper for the cake cutting on Sunday.  I was suppose to stop there and go off to bed.  But I could not help myself. Next thing I knew I printed out 15 sheets and used a bunch of things I had laying around  from past photo shoots,  including a jungle themed backdrop. I really should have stopped at just the cake but I really cant say no to a possible paper project.  Do you blame me? I went to bed at 5 am on Sunday morning.  I even got my mom involved in the fun and when she came over she made these hats for my 2 kids.  Isn't she awesome?
That was my weekend.  I took tons of pics, after all it was my baby's first birthday!  So when I am done sifting through them I will post.

  3. Cute Linnette... what did you use to create the fringe affect around the hat?

  4. Thanks ladies! @Latisha: My mom made the hats. She used crepe paper, the rolls from party City to make streamers out of. I dont know exactly how she made the fringes but from the looks of it, she gathered the paper and secure with double sided tape or glue. Then she probably cut the strips. then she either taped or glued the finished trim to the hat :)
